One frustration that has plagued Delphi developers is the problems caused when a source file has incorrectly formatted line-end characters. The Delphi editor expects a CR/LF pair (two characters) at the end of each line, but some programs and operating systems only use one. When a source file has been manipulated by such a program, the line returns can become corrupted, causing significant problems in debugging and, in some cases, compilation.
